It was nice staying in 'Oliver' for 3 nights, and enjoyed very much the 2 trips led by Heidi. We went to El Chorro and surroundings and also to Fuente de Piedra. And thanks to Heidi we found the way out of El Chorro!
In the book 'Where to watch birds in Southern Spain' (Garcia & Patterson) it says
"If you are foolhardy enough to come through the village the easiest way is simply to ask, in a questioning tone, for El Chorro, and some kind soul usually points the way. ....We strongly suspect there may be long-lost birders in the village trying to find their way out!"
It was the tours of both Rock Thrushes!!
Many thanks

We liked our stay in the Abigail apartment and did some nice trips in the area (Torcal, Ronda, Sierra de las Nieves ....). Some good birds too, Bonelli's Eagles (2) in Alora (rocks behind town), migrating Honey Buzzards (about 50) over the Finca and Orphean warbler (Torcal) etc.
Thanks a lot!

If you drive into Alora, it really is a right turn straight after the traffic lights!! Although the way I went still gets you there and is especially suitable for donkeys!!
PS. Liz says thankyou for the welcome pack!

From beginning to end, it has been fantastic week and the Finca is looking amazing, all down to the efforts of Martin and Heidi. They are the perfect hosts - we are relaxed, tanned and de-stressed. Thank you both and see you soon.x (Sherill)Heidi and Martin are doing a fantastic job in our absence and the Finca looks better than ever. We can't wait till we return for another visit! Saturday's BBQ was a terrific highlight. (Keith)
The welcome pack was great, just what we needed on arrival, beer and wine! Thanks!

Almost 4 years since our last visit and it's just how we remembered. We've had the peaceful week we were looking for. Stayed in the Abigail this time, and it was nice to have the added extras. Our highlights are always the birds; little owls, choughs, hoopoes, vultures and (not many) beeaters. Thank you Heidi and Martin

Waking up to BeaEaters calling and enjoying delicious breakfasts prepared by Heidi & Martin - we have found a part of paradise in 'Real Spain' at Finca Limoneros.
Thank you both for your kindness. Enjoyed birdwatching trips with Heidi, hope you manage to find the Elusive Gallinule!

Spring is arriving in Andalucia! Heidi and Martin are charming and helpful, providing us with breakfast on the terrace -what a way to start the day - highly recommended!!3 days birding with Keith - brilliant! Short-toed Eagles and little owls were our favourites!! Train ride to Malaga for Picasso. A lovely week, thanks!!

Delightfully quiet place to stay, given its edge of town location. Great day birdwatching at local sites with Keith and excellent trip to Fuente de Piedra for a superb nature reserve (00s Flamingo,100+ Crane and 1 sleepy White-headed duck!!)Pleasantly suprised by Malaga - Picasso museum is a gem! Mixed weather & rather cool....managed to sit outside with coats on!!
