Our Guest Book 2004

Below are comments received from guests and visitors to the website during the year 2004.

For previous guests who stayed during our first year of opening, see our Guest Book for 2003.
Keith and Sherill, Finca Limoneros
Jad a lovely relaxing time, the Oliver was home from home.
Looking forward to June to our next visit.
James and Tricia, Newport, Wales December 2004
Had a great time, lovely relaxing time! Finca life is very tempting - even the weather in November! Hospitality was first class. Keep up the good work. Good luck and hope to see you again.
Neal and Linda, Belfast & Fuerteventura November 2004
Words are difficult to find. Beautiful hot November day, everything at Finca Limoneros wonderful, made to feel extremely welcome. Fresh figs offered freely (after Martin had scrumped a pomegranate). Our room (Oliver) is lovely. The whole area offers stunning scenery, with the opportunity to get lost... but then what does that matter? We're glad you decided to create this haven.
Sally and Martin, Barwick-in-Elmet, Yorkshire, UK November 2004
Unfortunately despite all the previous comments we have to complain. There was no warning that FL would seriously improve our stress level, restore our sense of humour and faith in human beings. Once again in only a few days you have destroyed all that the government in the UK has done to us over many years. Keep up the good work - see you soon!!
Sue and John, Kettering, Northants, UK November 2004
Finca Limoneros lived up to its reputation as its excellent website attracted us initially. Wonderful hosts, hospitable and friendly. Loved the Welcome Pack and the Oliver was clean and cosy. Loved our visit.
Anne and Aidan, Dublin, Ireland November 2004
We were so happy here. Wonderfully excellent atmosphere. Such a friendly couple to stay with. The absolute highlight of our stay in Spain. We look forward to coming back with more time.
Per and Kin Lange, Alicia, Saga and Ram, Sweden November 2004
Four months later and as promised we are back. Everything just as enjoyable as our first visit and great to see the finca in a different season.

Thanks for a great time.
Hans and Hazel Wrang, Reading, UK November 2004
We were attracted by the excellent website and Finca Limoneros lived up to expectations. It's a peaceful, tranquil base from which to explore the Andalucian countryside which is truly spectacular! We particularly enjoyed the journey to Ronda through the Sierra de las Nieves - wonderful! Also the Sierra de Grazalema is worth a visit.

Many thanks for a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
John and Ceris Evans, Newtown, Mid Wales, UK October 2004
Thanks, Keith. We had a good journey, but it is very grey here!!

We enjoyed our holiday and found the studio very comfortable and well equipped.
(emailed on return to the UK)
Stuart and Margaret Wrigley, Lytham St Annes, UK October 2004
We planned a relaxing week doing whatever came our way, and the plan worked. Some good walking and a mix of good Spanish food locally and some home cooking at the pleasant and comfortable finca. Perfect temperatures - a nice spot to chill out - Oliver studio perfect for our needs. Thanks.
Jon and Ruth McCammont, Sunbury-on-Thames, UK October 2004
Can't think of a better way to spend a week in October - lovely weather. Abigail apartment excellent. Pool great. Lovely countryside, Alora pleasant.
Graham, Stockton-on-Tees, UK October 2004
F.L. a beautiful place to sit and do nothing.
Robert, Rickmansworth, UK October 2004
F.L. lived up to its website. 'Oliver' apartment is excellent and felt at home there. The pool is a great way to cool down. Thanks
Peter and Linda Finkill, Newcastle, UK October 2004
A great two weeks holiday. The Adam was very clean and comfortable, the pool wonderful at the end of a hot day. Enjoyed fruit from the garden (thanks Pepe, you're a sweetheart). Great place to explore Andalucia, especially El Chorro and the Lakes. We had some enjoyable evenings with other guests. Thanks Keith and good luck for the future.
Meg and John Metcalfe, Lancashire, UK October 2004
We enjoyed using 'Abigail' as a base for exploring Andalucia - very much liked the Alpujarras, Granada, Ronda, Seville and Costa de la Luz. Thanks keith for the welcome pack - much appreciated.
Angie and Tony Yeates, Cheshire, UK September 2004
Great base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. Studio good and well equipped. Pool very inviting at the end of a day's hot walking.
Ed and Jo Tucker, LLantwit Major, Wales, UK September 2004
Every bit as interesting as the website. Lots to see and do. Good, clean and practical accommodation in the Adam studio.
Hope to return again, one Spring.
Steve Stroud, Coventry, UK September 2004
As good as the website promised. Oliver was very clean and well equipped and the pool so welcoming. A very sincere 'thank you' Keith for your outstanding help and advice regarding our search for a plot of land. Over and above the call of duty! We'll be back!!
Jane and Chris Fenn, Scottow, Norwich, UK September 2004
Couldn't ask for anything more.! Wasn't that the title of a song? Everything lives up to your marvellous website - you've made us feel more than welcome. Thanks, Keith, and hope to see you again.
Brenda and Mick Peel, Cross Roads, Keighley, UK September 2004
Zan here again. Had to bring Joe to let him see what we need to save up for. Only had three days, all that was available. Need to get next year booked in advance to overtake the finca for the big 40 birthday bash. So beware Keith! Bringing Lil back with me for another week of chilling and drinking. We had a fab few days, the welcome pack grand and Adam apartment great.
Zan and Joe, East Kilbride, Glasgow, UK September 2004
Lovely quiet location, with very nice pool area. Would highly recommend all aspects - even the track if you like off-roading!
Barbara and Philip, Norwich, UK September 2004
Third visit of the year - stayed in all 3 studios now, everything up to its usual excellent standard (including Keith's hospitality). The only downside is that we still haven't found a property yet!
Barbara and Steve Sumner, Oldham, UK September 2004
Excellent website. Very informative. Have never visited this part of rural Spain before, it is absolutely stunning. Would really love to live here. Studio Oliver excellent, very clean and well equipped. Keith is a brilliant host, unobtrusive but always there. Ten days have seemed like ten weeks. We'll be back. Thanks for a great time.
P.S. Go horseriding to Louisa's, it's brilliant. What an experience.
Anne and Richard Smithson, Crosspool, Sheffield, UK September 2004
What attracted us first was Keith's excellent and informative website. The reality was even better than we'd imagined as Finca Limoneros provided us with a superb location from which we could explore the surrounding area. or 'chill out' by the pool!
Great neighbours, advice from Keith and wonderful food all combined to make this a memorable holiday. Nos gustó mucho charlar con Pepe que nos dió higos muy ricos. Hasta la próxima vez!
Jean and David O'Driscoll, Dublin, Eire August 2004
After 8 days we feel perfectly at home - Keith, our neighbours and the locals have all been so friendly and helpful. Oliver studio, the views and countryside are all superb. The best bit was the pool, though; invaluable in mid-August and used morning, noon and night. Even had a nocturnal 'skinny dip' (but don't tell anyone!). Many thanks and good luck for the future.
John and Julia, Ipswich, UK August 2004
Yet another great stay - we have now been 'residents' an all 3 studios and all offer the same comfortable, homey feel. Thanks for sharing your piece of Spain with us again! Hasta luego!!
Tania, Stephen and Rachael, Ipswich, UK August 2004
We approached 'the track' with trepidation but our accommodation exceeded our expectations - so clean and attractive with superb views and a welcoming pool at our doorstep! The adjacent studios are perfect for couples/friends to share balmy evenings, barbequeing, watching the local trains and counting the shooting stars. After nearly 3 weeks we return home with 'batteries' recharged. Good luck for the future and thank you.
Mary and Pete Myatt, Solihull, UK August 2004
An interesting location; ideal for exploring the region, particularly Ronda, Nerja, Mijas, 'old town' Malaga and the coastal resorts beyond Marbella up to Gibraltar. Great instructions from the airport and a lovely view of Alora from the pretty countryside.
Loved the home grown produce!!
Linda and Peter Colburn, Solihull, UK August 2004
We've had a great holiday. Your finca is excellent. The kids enjoyed the pool very much.

Good luck for the future.
Yves, Rita, Jo and Ine Stockmans, Zutendaal, Belgium August 2004
This is a great spot to unwind from busy UK life. Plenty to do around and about or not as the case may be! Thanks.
Helen and Andy, Trish and Tim, Doncaster, UK July 2004
Great apartment (Abigail) and 'cool' pool.

The finca is a great base for visiting some lovely places including El Chorro and Granada. Swimming in the reservoirs was a highlight.
Jo, Ben and Sam, Sidcup, UK July 2004
Arrived hot, tired and sticky, the welcome pack was very welcome. We have stayed around these parts on several occasions and love this area. The peace and beauty is really a joy after the hustle and bustle of the 'costa' this time of year.

The Adam was like home from home, very clean and well equipped. So lucky to have met Alan and Kath, our neighbours in the Oliver from Middlesborough. Thank you Keith for a great minibreak.
Lois and Dot Guest, Fuengirola, Spain July 2004
We only stayed for three nights but it was well worth the effort to get here (by motorbike). The finca was great for relaxing, very clean and tidy and welcoming. Keith really does a great job here.

Check out the horse riding - well worth the time to see such splendid views.
Alan and Kathy Thompson, Middlesborough, UK July 2004
We have had the most wonderful and relaxing stay. The finca was perfect and the pool amazing - most welcome after a hard day of sunbathing.
Many thanks Keith for the peppers and fresh veg - it all tasted great roasted on the bbq! Thank you!!
Lorna and Alessandro, W. Bridgford, Nottingham, UK July 2004
Delightful holiday. Apartment and view perfect. Alora is a very interesting town. El Chorro and the Natural Park absolutely stunning and beautiful.

Graham and Barbara, Stockton-on-Tees, UK July 2004
Wow! What a wonderful 5 days!

Thanks for all the help and advice you and Sherill gave us and stop by and see us in Ardales when we get settled.

Who'd have thought it! The Finca is fantastic.

Margaret and Bob Cross, Clanfield, Oxon, UK July 2004
Yet another great stay. 'Adam' was all we wished for.
Thanks for all your help - we will soon be neighbours. Thanks for looking after us.

[Steve and Tania first stayed at the finca in April 2004]
Steve and Tania, Ipswich, UK July 2004
Lovely peaceful location. Beautifully clean and comfortable accommodation.

We've had a lovely time, Sherill and Keith. Thank you.
Christine and Graham Carter, Portsmouth, UK July 2004
Abigail was a lovely apartment, very spacious with lots of nice touches. Pool was amazing. Great location for sightseeing, El Chorro and the lakes were beautiful.

Thanks and good luck for the future.
Karen and Jeff Woods, Tunbridge Wells, UK June 2004
From the informative and descriptive website, we already knew Finca Limoneros and the surrounding area before we got here.

The welcome pack, accommodation and superb location all met our expectations. A big thank you, Keith, for all the help you have given us for looking for a home before and during our stay. We will be back!

Hazel and Hans Wrang, UK June 2004
Adam studio very very clean (very impressed with this!). Finca Limoneros encapsulates the beauty and value of simplicity. And the local beer is cheap.
It was great to have a barbecue to use, in fact there were lots of little touches that were most appreciated. We had packed far too much - there were already enough books, magazines and CDs to last the 10 days. Bellissimo! XXX
Jonathan and Julia, Brighton, UK June 2004
Spectacular views across the valley. Long hot sunny days around the pool and exploring the local beauty spots. Great for birdwatching and sightseeing. Thanks for the warm welcome.
Steve and Maresah Haines, Southampton, UK June 2004
As I said when we were here back in April, Finca Limoneros is excellent in all ways.

Now here prior to moving in to a new home and a new life in Alora. So Keith, we´ll be neighbours across the Valle.
[Rob first stayed at the finca in April 2004]
Rob Griffith, formerly Leighton Buzzard, UK, now Alora!! June 2004
Abigail lived up to its expectations - a comfortable and well equipped base from which to house-hunt and explore the area.

Thank you, Keith, for your help and friendship.
Larry and Jen (and Marc) Risdale, Newbourne, Suffolk, UK June 2004
Highlight of the week was visiting the Alhambra at Granada, a "must see" if not experienced already. Also enjoyed Ronda and El Chorro, but still found time to relax by the pool and take time out. Enjoyed the food at Bar Correos, not so good at Conejito's.
Jim and Caroline Wilson, Warminster, UK May 2004
A real haven of beauty and peace.

We've been so comfortable here - we'd like to return and explore more of the lovely area.

Liz and Steve Walker, Derby, UK May 2004
Great time, as before and already looking forward to our next visit.
Coming back to Finca Limoneros is always a delight and Alora is lovely, too.
Thanks to Keith for the warm welcome.
[Jane and Max first stayed at the finca in September 2003]
Jane Booty and Max Arch, Cardiff, UK May 2004

Many thanks, Keith, for your warm welcome!

Etienne and Lydia De Kok, Schilde, Belgium May 2004
Many thanks for your warm welcome and for your hospitality throughout our stay. Everything was as we had hoped and better (including the birds!).
It was a pleasure to have met you and we wish you continued success.
Denis and Marie Carty, Dublin, Ireland May 2004
Lovely finca, very clean and well equipped. The welcome pack was more than appreciated! as was the peace and quiet, away from the rat race. Superb location to explore Alora and its beautiful surrounding countryside.
Thanks Keith, keep up the good work!
Sue and John, Kettering, Northants, UK May 2004
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the real España on our first wedding anniversary. Finca Limoneros is superb and Álora a great village from which to explore Andalucia.
Do we really have to go home?
(Thanks for the recommendation Bill and Angie 28/1/2004)
Debbie and Richard Dewey, Bristol, UK May 2004
Finca Limoneros was recommended to us and it certainly lives up to it! Excellent accommodation with lots of thoughtful touches - not least the 'welcome pack'.

Our stay was crowned by finding a new home in Alora. Here's looking forward to being local residents this coming June!!
Robert and Susan, Leighton Buzzard, Beds, UK April 2004
Many thanks for a great stay, your help was most useful, even though we may not have found quite what we were after.
(Steve and Tania were looking for land with a ruin for restoration)

Finca Limoneros was a great base to travel from, will recommend to all we see!!
Steve and Tania, Ipswich, Suffolk, UK April 2004
Very different from our lives in Marbella. Beautiful walks, especially the lakes and El Chorro - Abadalajís. Do visit El Torcal (for the birds as well as the rocks). Inland Spain has much to offer.
Bob and Ellie, Las Alamandas, Marbella, Spain April 2004
Thank you again. Now that we've bought our own place we'll expect you to visit us!! (Veronica)

This was a great base for our house-hunting. Well recommended to all our friends! (Jim)
Jim and Veronica Haig, Glenrothes, UK April 2004
Climbing in El Chorro mixed with house hunting. Great way to spend a week. Excellent hospitality, thanks for all your help and advice. Good luck for the future.

Finca Limoneros : couldn't recommend it highly enough.

David and Sarah Hamill, Belfast, UK April 2004
Finca Limoneros certainly lived up to our expectations from the excellent website. Despite arriving in torrential rain our enthusiasm wasn't dampened!
Didn't get to do much sightseeing (apart from El Chorro which was stunning) as we were here to property hunt. The finca is a great base to do this from, and Keith's hospitality made it an enjoyable stay. Hopefully next time the sun will be shining!
Steve and Barbara Sumner, Oldham, UK April 2004
Great location for walking and birding. Apartment (Oliver) was ideal for us, comfortable and well equipped. Mixed weather so we'll have to come back and do the walks we missed!
David and Linda Schofield, Oxshott, Surrey, UK March 2004
I enjoyed first planning the stay and the excursions with the excellent recommendations from the website.

We then had five sunny relaxing days in this comfortable apartment (Abigail)
Peter and Kati Nussbaumer, Stallikon, Switzerland March 2004
Second visit this year! Another enjoyable stay, again Keith helpful and informative, still yet to meet up for a beer though!

Will recommend Finca Limoneros to all, who would want to stay in a hotel after this?!
Martin and Amy Mander, West Ewell, Surrey, UK March 2004
A very enjoyable short break in peaceful and luxurious surroundings. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Can't wait to return with the family!
Paul Davison, Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK March 2004
Excellent location, great host - stayed for 3 days - too short!

Who said that you couldn't swim in the pool in March?
Tom Ross, Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, UK March 2004
Our visit , this time, was all too short. We'll get it right next time!

Thanks, Keith, and keep up that excellent web site!
Bill and Angie Edgar, Somerset, UK January 2004
Our first visit to this part of Andalucia. Finca Limoneros is very well located for exploring in all directions. Many thanks Keith for recommending El Chorro, the scenery up there is outstanding.

Your project here is quite impressive and inspiring! Thanks for your thoughts and advice.

Julie and Eddie Stanton, Harrogate, UK January 2004
This is the way to get away from the rat race - without the stress of hotel or resort living.

An excellent base for visits to Seville, Cordoba, Ronda or Granada without enduring the coastal chaos!

(Don't forget your directions though!)
Tony Farmer, Bedford, UK January 2004
Finca Limoneros has done nothing but reinforce our desire to make Andalucia our home, soon!

Excellent accommodation (Adam) and location. We will be back. Many, many thanks!
Martin and Amy Mander, West Ewell, Surrey, UK January 2004
Great base from which to explore and sightsee. We'll invite you to a barbie when we have our own place here.

Thanks for the useful contacts!
