Keith and Sherill, Finca Limoneros...
Thanks for a lovely stay away from Christmas madness at home!
Sophie and Matt, Sheffield, UK December 2006
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in your beautifully comfortable accommodation. Loved the birds and the terrapins, and made friends with the gecko. Thanks for a welcoming and relaxing time.
Jan and Hamish, Plockton, Wester Ross, Scotland October 2006
Thanks for a great stay. Mixed weather but we're here for the rock climbing and have managed to do plenty. One day's mountain biking which was also great fun. Cheers
Jacky and Graham McMahon, N. Wales, UK October 2006
Short but very sweet stay - it's our second visit and such a lot has changed. Beautiful gardens, wonderful apartment, just what we needed to relax and chill out. Love it. Thanks.
Mary and Frank Whittle, Pembroke, West Wales, UK September 2006
We had 4 lovely days here. Pretty gardens and lovely lemon drizzle cake. We saw some amazing views at El Chorro, and Alora is a pretty village. Just the break we needed - thanks!
Tina and Michael, Epsom, UK September 2006
It just got better here - every visit more changes and lovely touches, and the garden is so beautiful too. Take care both and see you next year!
Jane and Max, Cardiff, UK September 2006
Fantastic accommodation with great attention to detail. Very peaceful and in a great location for Eddie's birdwatching.
Sara and Eddie, Scotland September 2006
Although only here for 3 days - fantastic!! Very rare the two of us get to do nothing, so perfect. Heart rate down, stress level down - just what the doctor ordered. Did our bit for recycling too! Thanks.
Bry and Jo, Gibraltar September 2006
An oasis. The perfect place to chill and explore. Abigail is a lovely apartment; Wi-Fi a boon for our teenager to keep in touch with friends in Alora and at home. It will be easy to come back, but hard to leave. Thank you and best wishes.
Helen, Paul and Alice Tomlinson, East Grinstead, UK August 2006
A wonderful 10 days spent at Finca Limoneros. Mountains are spectacular - I'd love to see them in the Spring. Every good wish and thanks for your help and advice - much appreciated. Hasta lumbago!!
Jo and Peter Smith, Great Glen, Leicester, UK August 2006
Two superb weeks staying at the finca, a great chance to unwind and relax from our hectic lives in London. The accommodation was delightful with everything needed to hand. Luke appreciated the Wi-Fi and SKY TV, links to the 'other' world. Angela loved the tranquil garden, especially the banana plants! Plus the chance to swim alone in the refreshing pool.
Keith and Sherill were wonderful hosts giving great advice on places to visit and best routes. We found Cordoba magical and the caves a great adventure. We thoroughly recommend this haven!
Angela and Luke Burton, Lewisham, London, UK August 2006
An enjoyable very short stay before home in a tasteful studio - Oliver - with a wonderful, welcome pool. Your garden is beautiful - amazing plants especially the banana trees, and lizards and crickets everywhere!
Janet and Alan, Bamburgh, S. Yorks, UK August 2006
Just got the hang of 'siesta' time - now have to go home, one week stay not long enough!
Lovely tranquil place to stay. Pool - heaven!

Best Wishes
Janet and Colin, Newcastle, UK August 2006
What an amazing "find". Finca Limoneros is a little paradise and perfect in every way - sensitively renovated in Spanish rustic style. Immaculate, beautifully located with mountain views, peaceful and relaxed, gorgeous garden and swimming pool. Our every need was catered for by two wonderful hosts, Sherill and Keith.
Patricia Fullerton and Patrica Moorhead, Canada and Northern Ireland August 2006
Many thanks for creating the peaceful retreat we were looking for.

Best wishes for all your future ventures!
Lorne and Sarah, Edinburgh, UK June 2006
Super time again, absolutely brilliant to unwind. Looking forward to our next visit. Many thanks.
James and Tricia Williams, Newport, Wales June 2006
As fellow guesthouse owners, we can only compliment Keith and Sherill and thank them for making Finca Limoneros such a special and welcoming place. This is our 3rd visit and we will recommend it to all our friends. Buena suerte!!
Johan and Maria Smuts, Cape Town, South Africa June 2006
Not only the spectacular views across the valley, but a railway, absolute heaven. Enjoyed the bird walk especially watching the vultures roost at the top of El Chorro. Adam a splendid studio, and a much more relaxed atmosphere here than our normal visits to the coastal areas.
Wad and Lesley, Gosforth, Cumbria, UK June 2006
Wonderful time here, enjoyed every day looking for birds. The area around Alora is spectacular, and very beautiful. Abigail very comfortable and clean and the gardens are super to look at and sit in. Thanks to Keith for all the birding advice!
Katherine and Glenn Wickham, Beccles, UK June 2006
Great time, enjoyed our stay every minute. A good place for birding, walking and exploring the splendid nature around.
Surrounded by lemon and orange trees we tasted the olives and the Andalucian atmosphere.
The Estola Gran Reserva 1996 was superb. Thanks and continue that way.
PS 92 bird species in 10 days.
Luc and Dominique Bocaege, Vervaeck, Belgium May 2006
A lovely place for our honeymoon. Thanks for making us very welcome and answering all our questions. We feel totally relaxed. A wonderful place to unwind and completely chill out! Thanks!!
Angela and Matthew Watkins, London, UK May 2006
Although t was a very short stay I really enjoyed it and I hope to come back soon to your little piece of paradise in Spain!
Emmy Bocaege, London, UK May 2006
40 years ago I and my family explored Spain for several years. We saw all the 'highlights'. Last year my daughter stayed here (at Finca Limoneros) for a few days. Thanks for the tip, Renee. Spain is more than highlights.
Yvonne and Ab, Holland May 2006
Arrived and stressed and after a week in the Oliver we can look at life 'in the face' again, it's just the most lovely spot and a very Spanish town. Many thanks Sherill and Keith and we hope all the places we can come back to visit again, we loved the place.

In just 3 days we have fallen in love and been seduced by Finca Limoneros in Alora. Sherill and Keith have looked after us in great style, taken time and shared with us their favourite places. We couldn't have asked for more. Taking back memories of their beautiful gardens and our magic stay in Oliver. They have opened our eyes to the beauty of this part of Spain and we are looking forward to coming again.
Lynette Singers and Norman McAndrew, Elmdale, Manningtree, Essex, UK April 2006
Just the break we needed and everything we expected and more. Just not enough time, so we will have to come back. Keith's birding trip was first class and gave us the confidence to drive down ridiculous tracks to beautiful scenery and wonderful birds.
Chris and Dave, Lancashire and Yorkshire, UK April 2006
A lovely break - 2 whole weeks to relax in this lovely spot. We can only agree with all the other lovely comments in the book. Recommend the river walks from near the finca - lots of birds and very peaceful. We enjoyed visiting the local bars - very noisy at times but in a Spanish - not British - way. Very friendly and very reasonably priced.

Get your maps and extra walking info in the UK - it's thin on the ground once you're here. All apartments have a music centre so bring CDs!
Alan and Deb (and Steve), Manchester, UK April 2006
Lucky to see marvellous parades on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday - tremendous religious atmosphere.
Nice to stay in a real town - people very friendly.
Enjoyed La Reja restaurant and bar as well as those recommended.
Went on a number of good walks - plenty of choice from a good base. Swimming pool was invigorating and very welcome!
Ken and Sue Boston, Hoylake, UK April 2006
Very nice place - excellent hospitality - great birding! Thank you very much!
Colin and Ruth Tudge, Oxford, UK April 2006
Lovely spot, Andalucia, at this time of year not at all what I expected, green and lush, not brown and barren. Sorry I mistook the Nightingale for a nocturnal Blackbird!!
Arthur Portsmouth, Tenbury Wells, Worcs, UK April 2006
Lovely, clean apartment. Friendly welcome. Perfect location for exploring. El Chorro a must to visit, for us. The King's Walk terrifying. Comfortable (but squeeky!!) double bed. Many thanks.
Andrea and Simon, Brighton, UK April 2006
We're writing in your book again hopefully not for the last time, we may stay one more time before we move here. Thanks for the day out together and for making this place feel like home. 'It will be soon'.
Bill and Sue Norris, Dulwich, London, UK April 2006
Dear Sherill and Keith
We don't say goodbye, we say "Auf Wiedersehn"
Hopefully soon to enjoy again this lovely place
Your pretty finca and you as very friendly hosts
All the best
Ute and Ray Butler, Bremen, Germany March 2006
Thanks for such a lovely stay! We loved 'Oliver' and the views and our 'pups'!! It was so lovely to meet you both and to see what you have achieved with your beautiful home.
Alora will always be special to us and although we have chosen a place 'up north' we do think we'll be back one day! Good luck with the garden and pool - we'll watch the website to see how it's going.
Jerry and Jo Graham, Poole, Dorset, UK March 2006
soon to be part-time in San Isidro, Costa Calida - one day full-time!!!
With apologies to William McGonagal, allegedly Scotland's worst poet (till now).
A stay, too short, was what we had
One day of birds, and that not bad
With thirty three of species : glad
Was our outing and return, not sad.

Around the finca we dwelt not long
But drove the countryside among
Tamed and wild beauty that puts song
In the heart and rights all wrong.
Such doggerel is poor report
For such a welcoming resort
Dear reader you need worry naught
Better hosts we've never sought.

Return we must when Spring has sprung
Or Autumn groves with bees' wings hum
Or flowers beckon in Summer's sun
In Paradise! Our hearts are won!
(McGinnigal 2006)
Thank you both for making us very welcome. Hope the pups find a happy home!
